:Anshdeep Singh Bhatia becomes the first Turbaned Sikh to be the part of US President Donald Trump’s Security Team.
After completing his training, he joined the security last week. This Ludhiana-born Singh always wanted to be the part of President’s security but he was always told to change his looks. But after a legal conversation, the decision was in his favor.
Anshdeep’s family shifted to the United States in 2000. In 1984 anti-Sikh riots, they shifted to Ludhiana from Kanpur. During the riots, he had lost his uncle and a close relative. His father Devendra Singh suffered three bullet wounds as well.
Hardeep Singh Puri -the Union Minister of State for Housing & Urban Affairs tweeted that Singh denied changing his ‘look’ for the job in presidential security team, but after a legal conversation, the decision was in his favor.
