The 90th Academy Awards also known as the Oscars, the ceremony took place on March 4, 2018, at Hollywood’s Dolby Theatre, in Los Angeles, California. The oldest worldwide entertainment awards (first broadcast on radio in 1930) were again hosted by Jimmy Kimmel and were broadcast on ABC.
Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS) gives a total of 24 awards for artistic and technical merit annually. George Stanley created the golden statuette “Oscar”, officially called “Academy Award of Merit”.
Like every year, this year nominations marked an unpredictable Oscars race too. With a nomination in 13 categories “The Shape of Water” grabbed a big win with 4 awards.
